Dr Thea Bowler is a general gynaecologist & fertility specialist with a nurturing, gentle approach who provides wholistic and woman-centred care from adolescence into the post-menopausal years.
Thea has post-fellowship training in laparoscopic surgery, endometriosis and pelvic pain and provides care for women seeking hysterectomy, fibroid treatment and management of ovarian cysts.
She regularly works with adolescents and women on hormonal conditions including PCOS, menstrual disturbance, menopause medicine, PMS and PMDD.
Thea has completed a pain management course and has published several academic articles, including most recently, a guideline on the management of pelvic pain flares. She has written chapters for a seminal Australian textbook in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and continues to be involved in research and medical education. She is current Chair of the Queensland Persistent Pelvic Pain Network.
For her patients hoping to conceive, Thea is passionate about providing fertility care from preconception advice and fertility optimisation to ovulation induction and assisted reproduction.
Thea wholeheartedly believes in the importance of a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal care for her patients, especially those with complex pelvic pain.
She works closely with dietitians, psychologists, physiotherapists and naturopaths to achieve the best outcomes for those she is caring for. This, in addition to a strong belief in the healing properties of nature, makes her passionate about her work at Vera.
Thea is deeply committed to providing wholistic, individualised treatment encompassing diet, sleep, stress and gut health. Her greatest joy lies in supporting her patients to understand and love their bodies, empowering them to reclaim their gynaecological and reproductive health.
